For several years, CBFNC church mission teams have traveled to Kiev, Ukraine to help transform a former Soviet-era youth camp into a Christian ministry center called the Village of Hope. This labor of love is bearing fruit as two foster families have taken residence at the Village of Hope. A third family should take residence there in 2008. The families each consist of a husband, wife, natural children, plus foster children. These at-risk children, who were previously without care and without hope, now have both, along with a bright future, through this ministry. They are experiencing the love of Christ in a healthy family situation. Though there will still be a need, going forward, for mission teams to travel to the Village of Hope to perform additional construction work (to create space for more families and children), our partnership will expand into two areas: broader on-site ministry opportunities and ongoing support for children and families. In the coming months, we will provide information regarding ministry opportunities for mission teams in addition to construction. Financial support for families and children is needed now. Individuals and churches are encouraged to make special gifts for the support of children. Speakers are available to come to churches to share more information about this ministry. (Please contact the CBFNC office to enlist a speaker.) Our 2008 General Assembly Offering has been designated for this purpose. As you prayerfully prepare to participate in the assembly, we hope you'll also pray about providing financial support for the children of the Village of Hope. Learn more about the Village of Hope.
